
As a kid I admired dad for helping the less fortunate families at Christmas time. He would go out every Christmas eve to deliver gifts and food to these families and I have always wanted to do the same as I got older.  I now sponsor children of the boys and girls clubs of Toronto. 

Dad was always there for us, through good times, bad times and very bad times. Like attending hospital visits that required any of us needing surgery, some on multiple occasions 🤦‍♀️

Dad made friends everywhere he went and left a lasting impression of positivity on many, and shared many laughs with everyone. 

Dad was always happy to have his granddaughters spend the days with him.  Spoiling each of them in their own unique ways. 

Recently dad asked me to make him scrambled eggs and asked me not to put milk in them. I asked him why, because I learned to make scrambled eggs with milk from him. He told me that’s a poor people trick to make the food stretch to feed the whole family.  I was like “what” so your telling me we were poor growing up?  He said “yup”!  We wouldn’t have known it growing up. We always had what we needed. 

Dads last smile was the day before he passed. He was being transferred from the bed via a lift into a wheelchair and while suspended in the air, the nurse was calling him her “yup” man because his answer to all questions was YUP.  well when she asked him if that was right he smiled and answered YES, then she repeated saying YUP, and he smiled with a chuckle and repeated YES, being very cheeky with her. 

A smile I will never forget.  Rest peacefully daddy, love always & forever ❤️

Bruce, until we meet again I will think of you often and smile. You were a special human being, who was perhaps a little stubborn sometimes, but always, always had time for everyone, willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed one.
You had an exceptional love for your family, your beautiful girls.  They will be well cared for and you will be forever in their hearts and mine. You are now their Guardian Angel watching over them from above.
Sleep easy now my little brother, your legacy will live on and you will be well remembered for the caring, courageous, protective man that you became.

He was full of Love and Laughter and brought a smile to everyone he touched with his heart.
He will be missed greatly,

When  Chris and I came to Canada  in 1979  and I joined The Prudential, Bruce  was one of  the first people I met.  Nothing was too much trouble, he helped me settle in to Prudential Life and continued to do so throughout my career.  He was a wonderful person and a great friend and I for one will never forget the great times we had together.

We were very saddened to hear of Bruce’s passing. Our hearts go out to the entire, extended Beard family. A wonderful, fun loving, and close knit family of which Bruce was an integral part. He was a wonderful man, and we feel fortunate to have been able to know him.

Bruce was a wonderful storyteller, I won’t forget the times he kept me laughing and entertained over a pint, regaling me with stories from his younger years. He lived a truly interesting life, which I think is the best thing a man can do. Knowing my love for stories he once gifted me a set of Charles Dickens completed works, and the writing therein has brought me much joy over the years. I was touched that he thought of me then, to give that gift, and saddened to hear of his passing. He was truly a wonderful man, kind, and large hearted. He will be sorely missed and my heart, hopes and prayers go out to his family. 

Rest in peace my friend.  You were a great boss to work for many years ago at Prudential.  Always looking out for all of us at the office.  Always there to help any of us with anything we needed.  A true gentleman and a great person.  Will always remember our happy times we had!  I am glad we had a chance to catch up in the spring...sorry we never got to have that coffee together!. Bruce, You will be dearly missed. You'll always be that Grandpa.. the one who would do anything for his grandkids.  You'll always be that Dad.. the one who loved his children dearly and would give the shirt off your back for them.
