Bernice Jean Haylock

HAYLOCK, Bernice Jean - It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of Bernice Jean Haylock (1929-2022) on February 22nd at Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, surrounded by family. Predeceased by her loving husband Robert William Haylock (2010) following 58 years of marriage. She is survived by her children Stephen (Michelle), Lynn (Rick), Brian (Ellen) and John (Lori); grandchildren Nicole (Dan), Christine (Danny), Alyssa and Jessica; great-grandchild Lucas. A special mention to Holland Gardens Retirement Residence for making her final 2 ½ years very enjoyable and social. Also special thanks to Southlake Regional Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit) for making our mothers final days as peaceful as possible. Bernice enjoyed spending time with her friends, and participating in as many social activities as possible, including painting and line-dancing. Above all, Bernice loved and cherished her family. She looked forward to annual family vacations to Florida and Niagara Falls. Her focus was always on others, which continued into her last few days with us, as she wanted to arrange a birthday gift for a friend from her hospital bed. Her passing has left a hole in our hearts that no one can heal, but her love has left memories that none can steal. We will all miss you! A Celebration of Life will be held in early spring for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
