Surrounded by family Aila passed away at 97 years. Born in Lahdenpohja, Karjala, Finland

She is predeceased by her husband Taito. Remembered by her children,

Arja (Ari) Vainio, Liisa Contini ( Michael predeceased), Eeva Jalo, Sakari (Susan) Jalo and Mirja (Ken) Wollens. Wonderful "Mummo" to Tanja (Dubravko) & family, Laura (Jeff) McCurdy, Emily Contini, Amanda Jalo and MacKenzie Jalo. She was also a proud "Isomummo" to Tristan and Connor.

Our Aiti (Mother) lived a very full life. She was full of energy, active and practical in everything. She loved her Finnish community, long walks but her family was most important. She had a deep faith in God. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, as well as cooking and baking for her family.

She had run a good long race. She was a loving quiet person but in her own way has left an amazing legacy for her family.

A private Memorial Service will be held on April 1, 2023 at the Suomikoti, Finnish Canadian Seniors Center.

In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated by the family to Suomikoti Toronto where Mom lived for many years.
