Ginger was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in both Virginia and Key West, FL prior to moving to Savannah 22 years ago.
She was retired from the U.S. Naval Department of the Civil Service, was a Christian and an avid Bowler for over 55 years. Ginger was a very outgoing and lovely lady that was loved by all who met her.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Howard Cook; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bill Taylor of Jacksonville, FL, Brian and Danna Taylor of Strasburg, VA; two daughters and son-in-law, Peggy and Rusty Kunz of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Ellen and Danny Varela, Warrenton, VA; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a niece, Starr Schoen-Goetschalckx; other family and many friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the funeral home with a celebration of Gingers life beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Entombment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
