Mr. Robert Felton Lee Jr.

Robert was born and raised in Savannah. In his younger years he lived in Pulaski, Ga. He went to work at the age of 16 at Union Camp. A little before his 18 birthday, he joined the US Navy during World War II. He has a brick in his memory at the World War II Memorial on River Street in Savannah. Following his tour of duty in the Navy he returned to Savannah and went back to work at Union Camp where he remained for the next 46 years. Robert was Bag Machine Adjuster at his retirement.

He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of International Paper, a life member of the American Legion Post 135, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks. Some of Robert’s hobbies include flying, camping, fishing, water skiing, videotaping, genealogy and dancing.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Williams Lee of Savannah; two sons, Jerry D. Lee, (Karen), Jimmy A. Lee; a daughter, Brenda Yancey (Timothy); two sisters, Bobbie Joyner, Betty Smith; a brother, Jackie Lee; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel

Prayer Service at 6:00p.m. with Fr. Gabe Cummings officiating

Funeral Service: 2:00p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home with Fr. Jason Patrick Adams officiating. Burial to follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Garden.

Memorial Contributions: Pearlie Cosgrove Scholarship Fund with the Elks Lodge 183 or American Cancer Society.
