Phyllis Esterlein Jackson, 81, of Savannah, passed away on June 22 at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah. Phyllis was a native of Wood River, Illinois. She met her husband, William “Bill” Jackson while they both were employed at the Standard Oil Indiana Refinery in Wood River. In April of 1957 they were married in Wood River at St. Paul Lutheran Church. They were parents of three daughters and one son. Phyllis and her family moved to Savannah in 1965. She was active with the Girl Scouts of America, and was a long time member of Grace UMC where she was a member of the Lydia Circle and the Bereavement Committee. Phyllis was a recent member of White Bluff UMC. She is survived by her loving husband William L. “Bill” Jackson of Savannah, daughters Julia Barbee, Joyce Mollica (Gary), and Jayne Jackson, all of Marietta, Georgia, grandsons Alex Barbee III of Savannah, Steve, Mike, and Jake Mollica, all of Marietta, granddaughters Alaina Gambrell(Robby) of Chattanooga, Tennesse, and Meg and Jacey Mollica of Marietta, great grandson Zion Gambrell of Chattanooga, brother Jack Esterlein of Ozark, Alabama, sister Chyeral (Bob) Stohlmann of Austin, Minnesota, and brother lin law Guy Jackson of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel with Rev. John Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Grace UMC, White Bluff UMC, or Hospice Savannah. Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C.
