She was born January 10, 1920, in Saginaw, MI, to the late George Wilkins and Eva Murray Wilkins. Mrs. Johnson and her husband owned and operated her family’s business, Wilkins Parts and Equipment. She was a member of the Novi Rotary Club, started the Rotary Ann Club in Novi, MI, was a member of Landings Landlovers as well as a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Harold Johnson; children, Sharon Ann Johnson and Lynn Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Ambert and Mary Wilkins as well as a sister, Leota Harms.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Robert E. “Bob” Nickels of Savannah, GA; brother and sister-in-law, George and Jeanette Wilkins of Hemlock, MI; grandchildren, Tracy Lee D’Avella and husband Michael of Acworth, GA and Robbie Lynn Kimbrough and husband Col. R. Shane Kimbrough of Houston, TX.; Other survivors include four great-grandchildren, Brandon Lee Cotter of Kennesaw, GA, Kaitlyn Kimbrough, Taylor Kimbrough and Zack Kimbrough all of Houston, TX.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Margaret Wilkins Johnson, will be conducted at 2:00pm, Saturday September 20, 2014, at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. Reverend Tom Nichols will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the church following the funeral service. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Saginaw, MI. Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
