

Lavern Glover Carlon, 84, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Sunday Nov. 20, 2011 at Savannah Specialty Care Center. Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Vernice and Ola Irene Arnold Glover on April 12, 1927. In 1976, she and her family moved to Savannah where Lavern went to work for Wachovia Bank. At the time of her retirement in 1996, she was a Customer Service Representative. She was an avid golfer and was a former member of the LaVida Golf Country Club. She was a member of St. Michael and all Angels Episcopal Church and most recently attended St Frances of the Island Episcopal Church. Lavern was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a son, Chris Carlon (Cheryl) of Savannah; a daughter, Carron Standiford (Harold) of Savannah; a brother, William E. Glover (Dorothy) of Ardmore, OKLA; a sister, Peggy Glover Gustafson (Russell) of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren, Darron and Chad Sandiford and Cristen Wood; three nieces, Gena, Gay and Cathy. Memorial Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.22,2011 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
