Evelyn was born October 15, 1946 in Tallahassee, Fla to the late David J. Best and Alma Lee (Moore) Best. She was raised in Savannah, Ga., and graduated from Savannah High School; attended Taliaferro Baptist Church in Savannah, GA, where she was active in Girls' Auxiliary and obtained the Queen Regent Title. She worked at Dianna Shops in Savannah, GA.
Her life changed when she met a brash, young USAF airman in uniform, Bud Culbertson, at Taliaferro in early 1966. They were Engaged Nov 1966, then Married July 16, 1967.
In 1968 Evelyn left Savannah with her husband after he returned from Southeast ASIA, to leave for their first assignment in Texas and to see the world. They started their Family with their first son, Timothy, in 1969. Their second son, Christopher, came in 1971, & third son, Alan, in 1971. Their Family was completed in 1983 with their daughter, Leea.
She moved from Minot, ND to Beaufort, SC in 1988, when her husband retired from the USAF.
She had lived in TX, Louisiana, SC (3x), GA, Guam (2x), NH, & ND. She had worked as an Administrative Assistant while working Civil Service. She also had a career as an Office Manager for both a Veterinarian & Dental Office. She was an independent representative over the years for Christmas Around the World, Tri-Chem, Artex and Avon.
Evelyn was always active in her children & grandchildren's lives, her church communities, youth sports, school activities, and scouting.
She was a vibrant, loving, caring, and giving person to all she met and knew. She was preceded in death by parents, aunts & uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Bud Culbertson; her children & grandchildren: TIMOTHY, Emily, & Katie Culbertson; CHRIS Culbertson; ALAN, Dawn, Craig & Cole Culbertson, LEEA, John, Brianna & Bubba Davis. Also Siblings, their spouses, and children: TERRY & Charlene, Steven, Jimmy, Andy Best; BOBBY Best; and NADEL, Tara and Shaun Bryant.
She was dearly loved by everyone she met and those who came to know her. She is deeply loved by her husband, children, and grandchildren. And will be missed by all.

Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C.
