Betty Norris Miller

Betty Norris Miller passed away on April 19, 2015 at the age of 94. The Newcomerstown, Ohio native was preceded in death by her parents Ike and Lelia Norris, husband William Bill Miller, and Sister Gloria Marie Schirner. Betty lived in Savannah since 1948. She graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1939, and also attended a business college. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Ascension, where she was the Director of the Alter Guild and served on the Guide many years. She was a member of P.E.O. Women's Benevolent Association, Bethel Burton Community Club, American Legion Auxiliary in Ohio, former member of Gad about club, Bethel Burton for Homemakers Club, Sparks of Life and NARFE. Survivors include one son and daughter in law Frederick Fred Norris Miller and Julia Miller of Summerville, SC, four grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Mark, of Summerville, SC, and Ellen Godsy of Alabama; two great-grand sons; two cousins, Martha Ann Gracik and Helen Lawrence; several nephews and nieces in Ohio; Very special family friends: Jenkins Family, Paro Family and Scott Family. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. A Graveside Funeral Service and burial will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road with Rev. Carl R. Yost officiating.
