GRONDIN, Victor Joseph – Peacefully at home on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the age of 77. Beloved companion of Sibi Pregent for 37 years. Father of Claire (Frank), Roland (Carol), Susan, Lynne (Russ), Carol (Wayne), Christine (Hugo), Michael (Monique), Todd (Marie) and Brenda (Justin). Grandfather and great grandfather to many. Victor was the son of Eugene Grondin and Flora Coggins. He is predeceased by his brothers, sisters and in-laws Peter (Mary) Grondin, Marianne (Bob) Jobin, Lorenzo (Alice) Grondin, Germaine Lariviere, Paul Patry, Ubald Mantha. He is survived by Lorraine Patry of Timmins, Ontario who took care of him in his teen years, Edmond Lariviere of Chelsea, Quebec, Fred and Rollande Grondin of Timmins, Ontario, Beatrice and Pierrre Gaudette of Windsor, Ontario, Eugene Grondin and Jocelyn Gagne of Sudbury, Ontario, Donald and Susanne Coggins of Oshawa, Ontario and also many nieces and nephews. Victor worked in the mines of Ontario and Manitoba during the 50’s and 60’s, he then worked at Algoma Tube Division until his retirement in 1985. Victor was passionate about Moose Haven and its value to family atmosphere. He devoted a lot of his time and fundraising for the Moose Lodge. He was recognized for life long accomplishments and for his commitments to charity during his membership that spanned six decades. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
