With great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother Verlyn "Tiger", on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She has gone to meet her dear husband Harold and sons, Hally and Randy. She will be missed dearly by her children, Jim (Jan), Marty (late Pat), Patti McClelland (Glenn) and her grandchildren Brooke Smith-Harper (Peter), Joshua (Courtney), Jordan (Kari), Rachel (Cody), Jacob McClelland (Kristen), Cody McClelland (Riely), Brittany Drouin (Charles). GG to Ali, Jordan, Jackson, Wyatt, Noah, Zaria, Randy, Charlee, Francis, Zev and Saul.
Beloved daughter of the late Gordon and Alma Pickard and the daughter-in-law of the late Alfred and Clara Smith. She was the last of the Pickard family of 3 brothers and 4 sisters and their spouses are all deceased, William (Marigold), Edwin, Joy Mitchell (Herbert), June Jones (Gerald), Lois Jones (Ownie) and Gordon Pickard (Evelyn). She is survived by her two sisters-in-law Maggie Guest of London, Ontario and Lillian Parson-Roles (late Glenn Parson) (late Mickey Roles) of Derby, Kansas. Predeceased by brother and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Trepasso (Joe), Albert (Rita), George (Mary), Vic (Mary), Dorothy Vena (James). She will be missed by the many countless nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and families that came to visit, especially Donna and Cheryl. The teapot was always on at Verlyn's house.
Veryln and Harold enjoyed travelling all over Canada, United States, Mexico, England and Europe. She was the historian in the Pickard family and spent countless hours researching her family well before the internet came along. We will always remember all the goodness that was her and the love she had for family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at the emergency department especially Dr. Evans and 3B at Sault Area Hospital for their care and compassion.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Verlyn and Harold to be arranged at a later date.
