McCOY, Margaret Alice (Ridgway) – December 15, 1921 to November 1, 2016 – In her 95th year, Margaret peacefully passed away at the F.J. Davey Home, Driftwood 2 with her family always by her side. Predeceased by her husband and best friend Clifford Weston McCoy (Wes) December 22, 1994. She will be sadly missed and cherished by her daughter Lynda Margaret Luther and son-in-law Michael. Grandson Jason Michael Luther (Amanda) and granddaughter Elyse Margaret Bailey (Lyle) always put that smile on her face. Marg’s “great” grandsons, Tsion and Canaan Bailey put that special twinkle in her eyes and loved to share ice cream with her at the Davey Home and “not so smooth” rides on her walker. They did keep her laughing!! Predeceased by her sister and dear friend Thelma Lariviere. Always growing up together, one was never mentioned without the other”. Marg is survived by her sister-in-law and best friend Velma (McCoy) Scanlan. Thank you Irma, Jean, Lillian, Dorothy, Pat and “her furry sidekick”, the Desimone Families, Terry and Howard, Suzie, Don, Louie, and Lorrie for making her five years at the Davey Home a happy place. Our sincere thanks and gratitude goes to the staff at the Davey Home, Driftwood 2 for their professional, affectionate and gentle care and all the love and kind words shared with Marg’s family, not only in the last 3 weeks of her live but in the 5 years in her new home. Marg will be remembered by her nieces and nephews as a caring, nurturing lady, a bit stubborn at times but a haven for many. She loved to take rides out to see the leaves, and park by the river to have her special lunches of Arby’s sandwiches, baked potato and a Tim Horton’s coffee. It was always a fun trip to take a ride “down the line” to see where her husband Wes McCoy and family grew up. As a dear friend of the family just said, “She was a woman whose glass was always half full”, never complaining and always trying to make someone’s life a better place. I will always remember her telling me, on more than one occasion “I have a few aches and pains today, but don’t worry about it, they will get better”. Margaret’s wishes were that she be cremated and that there be a private family celebration at a later date. (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions made to the F.J. Davey Home – Walkway to Health or F.J. Davey Home Resident Service Account (Activities Program) or Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
