Beloved wife for sixty-six years to the late Frank Hart; daughter of Hugh and Amy Lougheed; cherished mother and friend to Carolyn Johnson (Martin), Kathryn Armstrong (late Bill), Elizabeth MacIsaac (Keith), Jennifer Hart, David Hart (Kim), Andrew Hart (Brenda); adored Nana of 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and dear sister to John Lougheed. Margaret had a profound and deep faith, which through her love she instilled in her children. She was a loving caretaker to “all creatures great and small”, but especially to her beloved canine companions.
Born on March 23, 1933 in Sault Ste. Marie, she spent much of her childhood in Toronto and Winnipeg. Margaret graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1956 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree. She worked in the maternity ward at the General hospital until her own children were born. She ultimately followed her love of music and developed a large piano studio. She loved singing in the St. Luke’s Cathedral Choir and was a founding member of the Chamber Singers of Algoma. Margaret spent her entire life serving others and was actively involved with the VON, May Court Club, Meals on Wheels and St. Luke’s Altar Guild, to name a few. Her selfless love shone through in all she did.
Margaret’s beloved Frank was the love of her life. Together they created a bond that most could only imagine, and spent their life devoted to each other. Together they travelled the world and had numerous boating adventures. They were blessed with a group of lifelong friends and shared many experiences such as boating, attending concerts and travels.
A special thank you to their beloved caregiver the late Elsie Irwin, nurse Cindy with Bayshore and Dr. Wilson who went above and beyond with their exceptional care.
