It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Chuck at the age of 82.
Son of the late Ann Frayn nee Morton and Robert Frayn Sr. Cherished husband of the late Brenda Ruth Frayn nee Turner. Proud father of Michael "Todd" Frayn (Christine), Troy Robert John Frayn (Robin), Tricia Lea Holden (Rob) and Robert Thomas Frayn (Amy-Jo). Much loved grandfather to Danielle Allyssa (Colin Booth), Allison Tille (Paul Charlebois), Anthony Raphael Charles, Nicholas Troy, Caden Robert, Mikayla Ann, Troy Daniel, Tyler Hunter, Easton Thomas and Riker Tiberius. Dear brother of the late Eunice Kennedy (Cliff), Dona Ballstadt (Kenneth) and Bobby Frayn (Olive). Predeceased by the late Ken Turner (Helen), the late Marguerite Hambly (Late Nyle), late John Turner (Shirley), late Chuck Turner (late Evedine), late Elane Turner and late Ann Wilson (Delmar). He also leaves behind many nieces nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
Chuck enjoyed a long career at Algoma Steel where he served as the Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee of the United Steelworkers of America. He was instrumental in implementing the Health and Safety Program for Steelworkers worldwide, that influenced the Health & Safety Act that we all follow today. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame. He will be fondly remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality and could start up a conversation with anyone.
As per Chuck's request, there will be no formal funeral services at this time. A Come & Go Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie or A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
