Wilma Heisler 81, passed away peacefully Friday February 17th 2023 at Sherbrooke Community Centre Saskatoon with her husband George by her side. Wilma was born November 23 1941 in Wilkie SK to Fred and Lena Sander. She moved to Unity in 1960 and worked in the Bank of Commerce. While in Unity she met the love of her life George Heisler. They got married July 22 1967 in Wilkie. After getting married they lived in numerous places in Alberta and Saskatchewan including Lloyminister, Grande Prairie and Biggar. In 1974 they moved to Saskatoon where their son Duane was born. Shorty after Duane was born in 1974 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Throughout the years her MS progressed and in 2001 she was confined to a wheelchair. The next 6 years Dad was amazing being her full-time caregiver until 2007 when she moved to Sherbrooke Community Centre where she resided for the next 15 years until her passing. Mom loved listening to music and singing along to her favorite songs. Dad would take her every Friday morning down to mass at Sherbrooke where she would sing along to her favorite hymns. She also loved watching curling on TV. Especially the Scotties and Brier. She also loved watching Telemiracle on TV every year. Even attending live a few times in the early years. Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 55 years George, son Duane and Grandson Liam: sisters Mary Schmidt, Theresa (Pete) Weber, brother in law Albert Weber and sister in law Elaine Sander along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Fred and Lena Sander, sisters Magdelana and Annie, Kay Frey, Betty Weber: brothers Jim and Philip: brother in laws Val Schmidt and Alfred Frey. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her beautiful smile until the end. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 23 2023 at 10:30am at Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Road Saskatoon SK). Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations me be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. We would like to thank all the staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre 4th floor for the amazing care they provided for Mom the past 15 years. Special thanks to all the nurses and Dr. Chernoff
