Wayne Patrick McInnis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne Patrick McInnis, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Wayne passed on August 2, 2021, at the age of 76. Wayne was born on March 17, 1945, in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to Leo Ignatius McInnis and Edith Theresa McMullin. On February 12, 1966, he married his soul mate, Dawn Maria Somes. They raised three sons. Wayne was a member of St. Augustine parish.

Wayne enjoyed a successful career as a registered nurse that began at the Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital. In 1980, he moved his family to Saskatoon to continue his career at the Regional Psychiatric Centre from which he retired in 2005.

Family was Wayne’s number one priority and one of his greatest sources of enjoyment; in particular, spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne spent his summers in retirement at Batchawana Bay, ON. Wayne truly loved helping other people and was the type that would literally give someone in need the shirt off his back. We will miss him every day.

Wayne is survived by his three sons, Martin (Lisa), Michael (Bonnie), and Robert (Tanya), his grandchildren Evan (Janaya), Kyle, Duncan, Rhiannon and Mark, his brother Gerard, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephew and several nieces.
