February 1, 1930 – December 20, 2016
Walter passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at City Hospital. He was predeceased by his mother Ariel and father Fred and brothers Don and Bobby. He is survived by his loving wife Sheila, sister Joan Collins, his special "little girl” Brooke and her mother Michelle, family and friends. Walter and Sheila (nee Trainor) were married in Saskatoon on June 30, 1969 and together enjoyed an active lifestyle that included going on motorbike trips, golfing, skiing, curling, speed skating and square dancing. Later in life they enjoyed relaxing vacations in Mexico. They bought a cabin at Wakaw Lake in 1976. This became their favourite "home" for 40 years. Walter shared his love of the lake life with Brooke and together they had many adventures there. He was an auto body man, jack of all trades and fixer of all things. He took his love of cars into retirement by refurbishing antique Ford Model A vehicles. The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Paul's and City Hospital’s for their care of Walter. In respect of Walter's wishes, no service will be held. Memorial donations in Walter’s honour may be made directly to a charity of the donor’s choice. Cremation arrangements in care of David Schurr – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200
