Ted was born on August 1st, 1948 in Humbolt, Saskatchewan, the fourth of six boys, and sixth of 9 children. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Mildred (Don) Bickerdike, Loretta (Herbert) Tetzlaff, Rudy Witt and Bernadette Fradette. With no children of his own, Ted was close with many of his nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Helen Witt, his brothers: Norbert Witt, Phil Witt, Herman Witt, and Jerome Witt.
The beginning years of Ted’s life found him working on the family farm, tending to livestock, tinkering with machines, and getting into mischief with his brothers and cousins. Over his lifetime, his work took him from driving coach tour buses, to semi-trucks hauling anything from livestock to Alaska and other loads as far south as Las Vegas. His skills and passion for wood working was seen in the furniture he built. With many more jobs in-between, Ted received his 30 Year Member award with the International Union of Operating Engineers as a Crane Operator. Along with working, Ted enjoyed riding his motorcycle, sharing meals with family and friends, and a good joke!
