It is with great sadness that we announce that Scott Felton passed away suddenly on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Waskesiu Lake, SK at the age of 53. Scott Gary Felton was born June 15, 1970 in Prince Albert Sask. His family moved to Regina in 1973. Scott attended Coronation School and graduated in 1988 at Thom Collegiate.
Scott was very active and excelled in all sports – city ball leagues, swimming, HS volleyball and basketball, hockey, golfing, football (Thom Trojans and played one year with the Regina Rams). It was through rugby (Campion Grads and Team Sask Senior Men’s) that Scott gained a camaraderie with great friends who became family to him.
Scott was always ambitious and working somewhere – he started working part time at the age of 12. Loading pop at Taylor field to the stands (6 years). Setting up pins at Prairie Lanes Bowling Alley in Grade 11 and 12. Next move was to Percival Mercury Eisbrenner GM as car jockey for a few years. He then decided to join some cousins in Swan Hills and got involved in the oil industry for 9 years. He drove truck for Jim and Jarvis Kilpatrick (his relatives), Wurm Weldings and then owned and operated a steamer vac/water truck for several years. Then moved back to Regina area and worked at various careers in Estevan, Coronach, Rosetown, Regina, Saskatoon and Waskesiu. He received his Journeyman Red Seal Electrician while working for SaskPower in Coronach.
Scott will be forever missed by his cherished and much loved daughter Tatum Felton, his father Gary Felton (Jacquie Perigny), his sister Jana (Perry) Coward and nephew Chase; his brother Jamon Selinger (Raelyn ) and their children Sienna, Jasper, Corbett and Jett; sister Lorelle (Kirby McGowan) and nephew Duncan, Jim Selinger and Tatum’s mom Tania Zimmerman-Felton. Scott was predeceased by his premature baby son Cole, his mother Karen (Corbett) Selinger and special long time friend Kobe (Paul Kobayashi). Scott was also predeceased by his cherished grandparents (Edgar Felton and Mabel Felton-Atkinson and Shirley and Avis Corbett), Uncle John Hartigan, Aunt Lynne (Felton) Williams, Uncle Jim Corbett, Cousin Dean Williams and other family members. Left to mourn of his lost is Aunt Gail (Felton) Hartigan, Aunt Jan Worobec, Aunt Joyce Corbett, many cousins including extended families ‘The Perigny’s (Jacquie’s family) and the Selinger’s and many cherished friends.
Scott’s greatest and biggest gift in his life was his daughter Tatum – he enjoyed watching her in her swim meets, school activities and especially spending time with her in Waskesiu every summer and other fun trips and times together. She was his pride and joy at all times. Scott loved life and was very social. His favorite place was Waskesiu where he went to his cottage every year since birth.
A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Regina Rugby Club (4025 25th Avenue, Regina, SK). Program to start at 6:00 p.m. Following that family and friends are welcome to stay for lunch and a ‘Celebration of Scott’s Life’ at his favorite watering hole - the way Scott would want. Private Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
