Bob will be profoundly missed by his loving wife of 15 years, Judy, his son, Brad (Vera), his daughter, Kim (Brent), and Judy’s daughter, Jackie (Trent). Grandpa Bob will be missed by his 10 grandchildren: (Brad) Amy, James, David, (Vera) Stephen, Aeson; (Kim) Keegan, Charlie; (Jackie) Janelle, Ashley, and Chelsea. He leaves to mourn his brothers, Ernest (Joan) and Victor (Rita), many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. Bob is predeceased by his father, James Nelson Hamilton, his mother, Margaret Hallum Hamilton (Farquharson), and his sister Margaret “Ann” Jickling (Hamilton).
Bob grew up in Ruthilda, Saskatchewan, where his love of farming took root. First and foremost, Bob was a farmer. However, Bob lived by the philosophy that one needs to continually pursue a sense of purpose, putting together one’s strengths, gifts, passions, and calling, to become more than anyone thought was possible. It was this sense of purpose that led Bob to pursue many endeavours, including becoming a mechanic, owning a garage, being a short line equipment dealer, general contracting, bin sweep manufacturing and hog barn production. Throughout his life, this pursuit of purpose fueled his passions for baseball, flying, and big game hunting, inspiring him to acquire his pilots license and play for the Plenty Oldtimers ball team. This pursuit of purpose applied to his friends and family, too, as Bob could be counted on to be the first one on scene whenever anyone needed help, day or night.
Bob’s early adult years were spent on the farm near Ruthilda with his first wife, Lorraine, and their children, Brad and Kim. They enjoyed many summers at Jackfish Lake. More recently, Bob and his wife, Judy, would spend their time between their homes in Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan, and Johnson Ranch, Arizona, as well as his farmhouse near Ruthilda, Saskatchewan. Bob and Judy cherished any time they spent visiting with family and friends.
