Reece was extremely skilled in heavy equipment, most recently running equipment in the Fort McMurray oil sands, where he formed lifelong friendships with many people, all of whom will miss his presence and smile. Reece was also a skilled painter, having started a painting company in Salmon Arm with his cousin Bud (Bryan). In recent memory, Reece began a new hobby & passion in the form of woodworking, following in his Nono’s passion of building pieces of heavy equipment, Reece recently starting building a 777 Haul Truck.
Reece attended Hillcrest Elementary in Salmon Arm, before going on to graduate from Centennial Collegiate in Saskatoon in 2009. He last played Hockey with the Saskatoon Red Wings, his love for the game grew while his family billeted a trio of Junior Hockey players, two of which Reece would have been proud to say went on to become Olympic athletes. He was so proud to share stories of others’ success and how proud he was of his family. Perhaps his greatest joy was becoming an Uncle in the fall of 2021, first to Harlow & most recently to Maisie.
Reece’s childhood was highlighted by his relationship with his family, spending many weekends in his Noni & Nono’s motorhome with his brother & cousins. Reece attended Sunnybrae Bible Camp & Salmon Arm Hockey School with his cousin, creating many friendships and memories. Reece cherished all of his cousins so much, and most will always refer to him as their little brother. We will forever miss our Reece and will never forget the happy memories he was a part of. He will be especially missed by his faithful companion Ceaser who has been a part of Reece’s life for over 10 years.
Reece is survived by parents Lori & Brian Bingham, brother Colby (Ashley) Bingham, nieces Harlow & Maisie Bingham, Aunt Jill (Keith) Edwards, Aunt Dianne (Blaine) Sterling, cousins Chad & Michael Gunville, Richard (Amy) Taylor & Tonya Taylor, Candace Bingham & Bryan (Leanne Mollica) Bingham, Lisa “Sassa” Scafe (Dave Hartwig), Uncle Rob Scafe, and cousins Kyle (Britney) Scafe & Dustin (Kelsey) Scafe.
