Otto passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital with his family at his side. Otto is loved and remembered by his wife Eva; daughters Fay Hoiness (Brian), Eileen Germann and Laurie Bitz (Lorne); son-in-law Rob Urquhart; grandchildren Greg (Roberta) Hoiness, Brent Hoiness, Tanya Hartz, Angela (Mike) Perry, Raeanne Bitz (Spencer), Rebecca Bitz (Jordan), Renee Bitz and Michael Bitz; great-grandchildren Aidan, Ethan and Sara Hoiness and Cameron Hartz as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Otto was predeceased by his daughter Deby Urquhart and grandchildren Ronan and Nicole Sopha; son-in-law Walter Germann; parents Joseph and Anna Senger; sisters Margaret (Al) Johnson, Katy (Foldine) Folk and Judy (Pete) Jackson; and his brother Pius (Muriel) Senger. Otto was born in Allan on the family farm. He started farming at an early age. On October 18, 1948, he married Eva Usselman and they enjoyed hosting many family and friend events and Otto especially enjoyed laughing and pulling pranks on people (Nicole will never forget the smoked fish). They continued to farm together until 1980 when he retired. They spent winters in Yuma, Arizona and enjoyed all the friendships and activities there, dad especially loved shuffling. They spent many weeks in summer, fishing at the northern lakes. They took many trips in the motor home venturing to various places to see family and friends. In 2007, they moved to Saskatoon. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (2 Lansing Square, Suite 804 Toronto, ON M2J 4P8). The Vigil for Otto will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29th and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30th with both services being held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (1902 Munroe Ave South).
