Nancy Kathleen Yachiw

Nancy, spent a well-lived life with family and pursuing a career in hairdressing, attending the Saskatoon Marvel School of Hairdressing in mid-1950s. As she began her hairdressing career she met the love of her life, Nestor Yachiw, the two being united in marriage on June 27, 1959. Nancy soon afterwards became the loving mother of three beautiful children, Brenda, Daryl and Kevin. Although a very busy mom, Nancy’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to set up her own hairdressing business in her home where she ran it for many years and to the end, she continued to be the family hair stylist.

Nancy was an adept gardener, who loved her flowers that she grew each year creating a beautiful array of color for all to enjoy. Traveling became one of her passions and she especially enjoyed the many cruises and camping vacations with family and friends. In 2004, Nancy fulfilled one of her lifetime dreams in traveling with her husband Nestor across the pond to visit her family in England.

She is predeceased by her father and mother, Reginald and Kathleen Ward, and brother Walter Ward. Nancy will be greatly missed by her loving husband Nestor, her children Brenda Peters (Russ), Daryl Yachiw & Kevin Yachiw, sister Joy Rayner (Willard Jamieson); grandchildren Shawn & Levi (Cassandra), six great grandchildren, brother and sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery (1502 2nd Avenue North, Saskatoon). The family asks to meet at 9:45 a.m. at the front gates of Woodlawn Cemetery to proceed.
