Mary Jewell of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Royal University Hospital on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She is survived by her loving children: Conrad, and children Chelsea and Katelind, and great-granddaughter Kahli; Heather (Eric) Smith, and children Erik and Julie; and Lori and her children Billy (Lori) and great-grandchildren Adeline and Billy boy, Saul, Todd and Brooke; and her brother John Nakonechny and family. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time with her family. She very much enjoyed spending time with her friends, visiting, playing bridge and cribbage. She loved gardening, knitting and watching all sports: curling and baseball games were never missed. Mary and her husband Ken enjoyed many years of camping and fishing in Northern Saskatchewan, and found that Little Bear Lake was their happy place, creating many lasting memories. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at Royal University Hospital. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Parkville Manor and staff for creating a wonderful home environment for her. At Mom’s request, there will not be a funeral service. A come and go tea service and celebration of life will be held at The Delta Bessborough, Terrace Lounge on Saturday, September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
