Marlene Myrtle Goheen, born Apr. 18, 1937 in Young, SK to Fritz and Melba Holtorf, passed away Sunday Nov. 24, 2019 at St. Paul’s Palliative Care at the age of 82 years. Marlene grew up in Young and in 1951 her family moved to Lacadena, SK. She married Leonard Goheen in 1955 and they raised four daughters, Connie, Lori, Linda and Gwen and one son Jeff. She was a farmer alongside Leonard from 1955 to 2001. Through the years she was very involved in the community, the Lacadena Church groups and curling, which she loved. When not busy farming they enjoyed the cabin at Clearwater Lake. Len and Marlene loved to travel. Once retired in 2001, they travelled extensively in Canada and the US. They managed to visit 50 states and all the provinces in Canada. When not travelling, winter months were spent in Saskatoon and summers first at Prairie Lake, then Candle Lake, where they spent many hours fishing. Marlene had a passion for cross stitch, crocheting, knitting and refinishing old furniture. She also kept very busy with a large garden and canning and she loved playing cards and games with friends and family. Marlene was known for her quick wit and humor. Above all she loved spending time with her family. Marlene is lovingly remembered by her daughters Connie (Harvey) Dueck & their children Becki (James) Larkin, Brett (Melissa) Dueck & Leah Dueck, Linda (Darrell) Gray & their children Melany (Leigh) Pickford, Randi (Kent) Mortenson, Jena (Matt) McKillop & Morgan (Graham) Dietrich, Gwen Mass & her children Rory and Garrett Mass; her son Jeff Goheen; sister Dorothy (Fred) Wiemken; brother Bobby Holtorf; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and eleven great grandchildren. Marlene was predeceased by her husband Leonard Goheen, daughter Lori Goheen, parents Fritz and Melba Holtorf and brothers Ken Holtorf, Don Holtorf and Lyle Holtorf. A private family service will take place at a later date.
