Leona was born in Thunderbay, Ontario on April 29th, 1960. The family moved to Saskatchewan when she was 4 months old and she remained here having held various jobs and making many friends along the way. Her jobs included employment in a meat packing plant, the hospitality industry, road construction and heavy machinery operator.
Leona loved outdoor activities especially working in her flower garden and spending time just relaxing by the fire at home and at the farm. She shared this passion of the outdoors with her dog Shelby, who was her faithful companion for the past 9 years. Leona was always so happy, welcoming and loving. She laughed with and held closely her nieces and nephews, she embraced every moment and every opportunity to laugh, enjoy the music of life, feel the love of family and friends, and be anchored by her love for and companionship with Jim. Family and friends were so important to her and she asked us to make sure everyone knew how much she loved them and would always be with them.
A gentle soul has left us but she has left behind many blessings: friendships, love, acceptance, compassion. She will be remembered as a loving partner, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. Leona is survived by her partner Jim Dahl, sisters Carol (Wayne), Pat (Gene) and brothers Bill (Debbie), Dale (Patty) and godson Jeremy Sears (Dani) and many nieces and nephews.
Go rest high on that mountain Leona and rest in eternal peace with mom and your dad.
A Service of Remembrance for Leona will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Windsor Chapel, 704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
