Lenard is survived by his beloved mother Thelma Hall, his love and life partner Melinda LaRose, stepchildren Courtney (Junior), and Dylan. Len is also survived by his sister Donna as well as his nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his father Lawrence Backman and his stepfather Bill Hall.
Len grew up in Humboldt Saskatchewan where he attained his grade 12 diploma. He enjoyed playing hockey and was an avid Montréal Canadiens fan. Len also participated in most sports, as he was very athletic. Len moved to Saskatoon and began driving truck for Jay’s Moving and Storage in 1987. He was employed with the company until 2016. Len was a very good driver and missed driving truck the last few years of his life. Len was a lover of music and learned to play guitar when he was younger.
I have heard for a while now how blessed Len was to have me caring for him, loving him, filling the void, even from his doctor and palliative nurses ... HOWEVER, we were blessed to have each other 💙❤️
Len was a caring, gentle, generous, funny man, and was a comedian at heart. If his family or friends needed help in anyway, he was there! He was generous with his time, his life, his jokes, his finances, and his love ❤️. We made many memories over the years! We laughed together, we shared our love of music, and I loved spending time with him.
Len suffered this last year and was in a lot of pain although, one would never guess ....
he was stoic and NEVER complained. He showed me strength, courage, and humour in the face of a terminal diagnosis!
The one thought that will keep us going is that he is no longer in any pain and that he’s up there playing hockey on his days off from driving an 18 wheeler.
Len was dearly loved by his mother, they were very close and they shared a bond that was unbreakable. She often referred to Len as her “baby boy.” Len loved his mother immeasurably ❤️ they spoke on the phone every day at least once, sometimes twice a day! He was at peace knowing that I have taken over that role of caring for her and helping her when she needs anything!
I will miss him and his hugs! I love you Len ... from your Beauty 🌹RIP
In true Len fashion… “Why do seagulls fly over the sea?
If they flew over the bay, they would be called bagels.”
