We announce the passing of Leah Joanna Ouellette on December 29th, 2023. Leah was born April 11, 1982 in Saskatoon. She leaves behind Doris and Jake (mother and father) Shyla (daughter), Carrie, Leighton and Eva (sister, brother-in-law and niece), Eric, Courtney, Kaida and Miller (brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Leah was full of life and always so generous. The stories we could tell of her giving to everyone and anyone that needed a coat, pair of shoes is endless. Leah and Carrie travelled to Guatemala on a mission trip in 1996 and Leah was so saddened that she couldn’t help more. It impacted her in such a way that she put it into her daily way of life to help people. She treated everyone with kindness and respect. Leah loved sports and staying active. She was one of the best rollerbladers and got the nickname “Liquid Legs” because she moved so seamlessly. Leah and Eric would spend hours rollerblading leaving their older sister in the dust! Leah was also a brilliant artist, she loved to sketch and create what she was feeling.
One of the many wonderful things she passed on to her daughter who is also talented and creative in the arts. Leah became a mother in 2006 to a beautiful daughter, Shyla who was the light of her life. She would spend hours talking to her and loved nothing more than going for a drive and getting an A&W with her.
Everyone that came across Leah’s path would hear about Shyla, she was so proud of the young woman she is today. Leah you leave a hole in our hearts. Even though we know you are now dancing in heaven, our hearts wish you here with us. So many words and hugs we can’t give you but always know this, you were the best daughter, mother and sister we could have ever asked for. Your light will live on in Shyla and all of us. Thank you for being you and for loving us. Arrangements entrusted to Brady Levesque.
