Kurtis found restful peace on August 26, 2022. Left to mourn is Dianne Henn (Warren), Kent Gosselin (Luanne Fettes), Jeff Gosselin (Carolyn, Zachary, Oriana, Saphina), and Chantelle Gosselin (Sean Palmer, Kody Palmer).
Kurtis was born in Fort St. John, BC, and attended Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon. As an adult he resided with Elmwood Residences for 26 years, and was employed with Cosmopolitan Industries for 21 years, until his retirement in 2019.
Kurtis was an avid bowler, and was a star athlete with the Special Olympics, winning many awards. He successfully left his mark on the local art scene, with multiple one-man shows that drew large crowds. His favorite pastimes were attending summer camp, visits to Tim Horton’s, shopping for friends and family, and attending live sporting events.
Kurtis was a legendary character that left every person he met with a memory they could carry with them. His sense of humour, love of life and people, and mischievous nature were cornerstones of the spirit he carried with him every day. Later in life he earned the nickname “Kurt the Flirt” by the staff at Elmwood. This was reflective of his playful nature, and connection with others.
Kurtis’ departure has left an absence in the hearts of his many friends and family members, and he will be greatly missed, remembered, and cherished.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday September 11, 2022 Elmwood Residence’ Gymnasium (2012 Arlington Ave, Saskatoon, SK) at 1:00 p.m. Casual attire encouraged. Arrangements entrusted to Aime Laventure.
