He was predeceased by his parents, John (Jack) and Fanny. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda, his children Jennifer (Chris) Holben, Shawn, Jody Buckley and James Michael, and his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan and Victoria Holben, Dayton and Keenan Hession and Nathan and Alexis Buckley. As well as his sisters Patricia, Janice (Robert) and Judy (Aaron) and several nieces and nephews.
John worked for Canada Post for 37 years, most of that time was as a letter carrier. During this time he made many friendships along his walks. After retiring from Canada Post John liked to spend time in their backyard in Dalmeny.
The family would like to thank the staff at RUH 5th and 6th floor and Sherbrook Community Centre for the care they provided. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to The Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
