Our beautiful and much loved mother, Joanne Agnes Murray nee Trybuch, was born August 18, 1936 in Edmonton, Alberta to Mike and Anne Trybuch. After a difficult and long battle with Parkinson’s at the age of 88. Joanne passed quietly on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025 in Saskatoon, Sk with her devoted daughter and granddaughter staying at her side.
Joanne was raised and attended all of her school years in Athabasca, Alberta. She shared many memories of a childhood full of friends, sports and working in her parents dry cleaners. She loved softball, skating and was a talented athlete.
After school Joanne attended secretarial school and began working in Edmonton. While working there she met her much loved husband, Ronald Murray. Ron was a member of the Air Force and after marriage they headed off to many different bases. Throughout Ron’s career they lived in Whitehorse, Moncton, Ottawa, Sennetaire and Alsask. Their two children, Michael and Sheryl Ann, joined the family in the early years. Mom was a dedicated parent who was involved in the many activities her children participated in. She also made time to use her artistic talents in painting, drawing, crafting, sewing, gardening and quilting.
After retiring from the Air Force, Joanne and Ron built their dream home and retired in Alsask. There they enjoyed travelling and coffee time at the 7-44. They spent many happy days at their trailer in Aquedao where they spent much time visiting and golfing. They wintered in Yuma where they made close friends and kept busy with many activities such as cards, golfing, quilting and happy hours. Joanne especially embraced the role as Grandma to her three grandchildren, Joel, Casey and Janessa. She was at all of their sports games, concerts and life events. They shared a very special relationship.
After Ron passed away, Joanne moved to Caleb in Kindersley. She enjoyed the friends and activities there but as her Parkinson’s caused her health to decline more care was needed. Joanne moved to Saskatoon where she could be closer to her daughter, Sheryl Ann and granddaughter Janessa, both who spent much treasured time with her in her final journey. Joanne spent her last few years at Porteous Lodge surrounded by love and care.
Joanne is survived by her children Michael (Edie) and Sheryl Ann (Lee) and her adored grandchildren Joel (Lisa), Casey (Carissa) and Janessa and great grandchildren, Aniela and Atticus Yeomans, Camryn Beatty and Iris Yeomans. In addition, her much loved cousins Luke and Marcelle Trybuch, her sister-in-law Eileen Kowalski and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Anne Trybuch, her husband Ron, and brother Ed. Also her brother-in-laws, Doug, Dawson and Beverly and sister-in-laws, Cora and Charlotte.
Joanne will be laid to rest beside her husband Ron in a private family service. Your prayers are appreciated.
The last few years have been difficult for Joanne. As we grieve her loss we celebrate the fact that she is no longer in pain and suffering. Rest easy mom, your job is done. We love you and will miss you everyday.
In lieu of flowers feel free to donate to Parkinson’s Canada (donate@parkinson.ca or 1-888-664-1973) in her remembrance.
