It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Kading on Saturday, August 20, 2022 after a short battle with brain cancer. Joan was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend.
In her gentle way she kept the early years alive through her jokes, stories, and shared memories. One of Joan’s greatest inspirations in life was her father Warren, a man she deeply admired, loved, and respected. Her infectious laughter while telling these stories will live in her grandchildren’s hearts forever.
After 54 years together, Joan will be deeply missed by the love of her life, Gary. High school sweethearts and lifelong friends, they shared many adventures. She loved to travel but her favourite part of every trip was arriving home again and there was no greater joy in her life than having the entire family under one roof for food, games, and laughter.
Joan’s smile lit up a room and her pure, tender soul lives on in the legacy that is her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her son Aaron (Kate) Kading and children William and Wyatt; daughter Kimberly (Matt) Grazier and children Layton and Annaka; daughter Alana (Kelly) Crozon and their children, Jack, Charlie, and Molly; and sisters Bonnie (Ray Mann) Bartel, and Pat (Greg) Lamb. As we grieve our loss, our wonderful memories of her caring spirit (and many “Joanalisms”) will give us comfort in the days ahead.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Warren and Joyce Wilson; father-in law and mother-in-law, Walter and Clara Kading; brother-in-law, Dave Bartel; and sister-in-law, Bev Mostoway.
A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Agar’s Corner (Highway 16 East and Floral Road, Saskatoon). The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
