Grant loved growing up on the farm around all his cousins and friends. He loved hunting season, farming and his work in the oilfield. Many of you knew his love for trucks and all things mechanical, for which he was very gifted. You might not know that when he was young, he spent many hours drawing detailed vehicles from memory. He grew up riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles. When he was older it was race cars and motorbikes. He was always willing to help if someone needed something fixed. His mind never stopped thinking of a better way to do things.
For the past 8 years Grant has lived with complications due to the spinal cord damage from his accident. Then earlier this year, he was diagnosed with advanced ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and it progressed quickly. Grant passed away peacefully with a few family and friends by his side.
Thank you to everyone at Royal University Hospital and City Hospital where Grant spent the last 4 months. We appreciated all those that made his days a bit brighter. A huge thank you to Kendra, Brian, and Lilian for all you did for Grant.
At Grants request, there will be no service. He will be buried in Torquay with our parents at a later date.
Please keep supporting Stars Air Ambulance, Grant was grateful this service was there when he needed it. Arrangements entrusted Aime Laventure.
