Gertie Taylor passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born November 3, 1925 to William and Gertrude Hazell in Saskatoon where she lived until 1944, when she married Bill Taylor and moved to the family farm at Hawarden. There, she and Bill raised their boys Bob and Doug. In 1984 Bill and Gertie retired and moved to Saskatoon. Gertie was predeceased by her parents; step-brothers Mike and Gord; and her husband Bill. She is survived by her sons Bob (Diane) and Doug (Rosalynne); daughter-in-law Jean; grandchildren Allice (Bob), Koreann (Dean), Rob and Sheri; and great-grandchildren Adam, Kara and Mia. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor St.) in Saskatoon. The interment will be held at Hawarden Cemetery in Hawarden, SK. Memorial donations in Gertie’s name may be made to the Salvation Army (339 Ave. C South, Saskatoon, S7M 1N5) or to Camp Easter Seal (1410 Kilburn Ave, Saskatoon S7M 0J8).
