She joined her beloved husband and parents on November 28, 2023.
The oldest of 4, Fran is survived by her brothers Roy (Joyce) Mahon, Jack (Connie) Mahon, and sister Edna (Noel) Smith.
She is also survived by her son Marvin Scansen, (Corinne, Brianna (Matt), Caleb), and Myrna Lensen (Kevin, Aron (Morgan), Krystina, Nadine, Shaun).
Mom grew up in southwestern Saskatchewan to a ranch family and was fortunate enough to have been able to attend Boarding School in Regina and then went on to Teachers College, receiving her Teaching Certificate.
Throughout her life Fran was a Bank Teller, a Phone Operator, a Teacher, a Farmer/ Rancher, a wife, and a wonderful Mother. One of the things she was most proud of though was becoming a Great Grandmother to Wyatt, Collyns, Hayes, and Briar. Her eyes always sparkled a little bit more and her mind got a little clearer whenever she discussed them or saw some new pictures.
Mom spent most of her life on the family farm in the Cadillac/Admiral area of Southern Saskatchewan. She and dad only left after dad became too ill to farm so they decided to move to Saskatoon to be closer to their children and care for Aron. Mom lived in several different places in the 25+ years she has been in Saskatoon, her most recent move was to Circle Drive Special Care Home after having a fall in February and breaking her leg.
We would like to thank all the staff there for the care mom received while there
Mom was an avid reader and would spend hours with a good book, even foregoing sleep if it was really interesting.
She was always an active member of the LCW while on the farm and Trinity Lutheran after moving to Saskatoon.
A Celebration of Fran’s life will take place on Thursday December 7, 2023 at Christ Anglican Church, 515 28th St. W
Saskatoon at 2PM
