Elmer Donald Church, 87 years young passed away at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon on August 13th, 2015. Don was born on January 21, 1928 to Elmer and Lillian Church on a farm south east of Radville, SK. He was predeceased by his parents Elmer (1975) and Lillian (1980) and 2 sisters, Fernie (1935) and Shirley (2013). As a young man growing up he helped his dad farm, had his own trap line, worked in a paper mill, trained to be a movie theater projectionist as well as a journeyman mechanic where he spent most of his career working on school buses in Watrous, Saskatoon, and Viscount, SK. He would tackle anything from small engines to big Cat engines. If someone told him it couldn't be done he would always go about proving them wrong. As a hobby he tried boxing, was an avid CB enthusiast, and a videographer, videotaping everything that he came across. He loved hunting and was often seen hunting with friends and relatives for wild fowl and big game in the Radville area. When he finished his mechanic training in 1949 he met the love of his life, Joyce MacKeracher and they were married on October 11, 1950 in Eston. They had 4 children; Donna (Ernie)Schiman, Jim (Gail)Church, Janice (Lyle) Corrigan, Janet (Larry)Woods. He always enjoyed all the time spent with his 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Nothing meant more to him and he was so proud of each and every one of them and when the great grandchildren came along he was even prouder, showing pictures and talking about them to anyone who would listen.
