It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Elaine after a brave battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Elaine touched the lives of everyone she met with her unconditional love and grace. Elaine is survived by her fiancé Jim Nadeau and family; her sister Irene(Don); brother Keith (Lucy); stepchildren, Lisa (Barry), Shaunna (Jason), Derek (Louise); as well as 18 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Irvin Dermott; parents Kenneth and Mary Rivett; sister Ethel (George) Bluett; niece Barb and nephew Ken. Elaine spent many years working at the University of Saskatchewan. Her career began at the Veterinary College, and prior to her retirement she was the Assistant to the Dean of the College of Engineering. Elaine had a zest for life. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, travelling, golfing and dancing. The special moments in her life included spending time with family and friends. She had a very compassionate and loving spirit and was a source of strength to many of us who have been blessed to have known her. A gathering with family and friends to honor and pay tribute to Elaine will be held at Mourning Glory Funeral Services on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Elaine’s Life will be held at McClure United Church (4025 Taylor Street East) on Friday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
