Born on September 20, 1937, in Melville, SK, Don was the youngest of five. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Stella Turta; his sister, Pauline Gross; brother, Mike Turta; his long-time companion, Kay Randall and Anne Turta, mother of his children.
Don dedicated 40 years to CN Rail, retiring in 1993. He had a passion for music, often playing the guitar and fiddle. He loved to put on a suit and go dancing, bringing joy to everyone around him. Don and Kay traveled together to Nashville, Alaska, and Hawaii, creating memories filled with adventure. He enjoyed simple pleasures like having coffee with friends at the Co-op.
Don was a loving father, survived by his sons, Dwayne, Dale, and Terry (Paula), and daughters, Debbie (Nate) and Sherri. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Courtanae, Chloe, Ceira, Kaede, and Temper. Don is also survived by his sister, Elsie and brother, Andy (Leafa) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Don will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday June 22, 2024 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon).
