Carl Dagobert Von Biela

December 10, 1962 - January 31, 2022

Carl Von Biela, 59, is now at peace after a valiant battle with cancer. He fought a good fight and stayed strong until the end, passing peacefully with his family by his side at St. Paul's Hospital on January 31, 2022.

Carl lived most of his life in Saskatoon, Sk after he came to Canada from The Hague, Netherlands with his family. Growing up he spent most of his time cruising 8th St. and roller skating at Rollerama where he met the love of his life Candra. He had a deep love for anything cars especially classic cars. Whether it would be working in his own tire shop named after him on 51st street, Carl's Used Tire Shop in the 90's, tinkering in his garage, or taking vehicles for random car washes, Carl spent a lot of his free time enjoying helping his friends/family with their vehicles no matter what the issue was. He and his wife even acquired an extended family by becoming members of the Shifters Car Club here in Saskatoon.

Later in his life, Carl found out he had a passion for carpentry and home renovations and he and his wife started a contracting company called C&C Contracting which they ran successfully for many years. His first priority above all else was his clients, going above and beyond to make sure everything he did for them was perfect and giving them what they wanted. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Candra; son John; daughter Taija (Daniel); mom Anne; his sister Irene (Rod); brother Richard (Leah); brother-in-laws Curtis (Faye), Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews; countless friends and loyal family dog Axel. He is predeceased by his sister “Nette” and father in law Don Redl.

Carl will be remembered for bringing so much laughter and joy into the world, his loved ones, and to the people he cared about. We will never forget his selflessness, willingly going out of his way to help others, even strangers when they needed a caring hand. His quick wit brought humor to even the most intense of situations, so he reminds you to remember to smile, as he misses you too.

A Celebration of Carl's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, SK).
