With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Alfred at the age of 99 ½ years on April 5, 2025. Alfred was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne and son Robert. He is survived by his children Mary Anne, William, Martin (Chris), Karen, Kurt (Lori), Lorna (Everton), Gail; and grandchildren Danielle (Cody), Aaron, Sarah, and Greg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alfred was employed for over 35 years with International Harvester starting in the motor truck division before moving into farm machinery. He travelled extensively throughout the province visiting many dealerships and farms. After early retirement, he found a new career as an instructor in farm machinery mechanics at Kelsey Campus for 10 years.
After a second retirement, he enjoyed many trips around Canada and Europe with Anne, his constant companion. After her passing, his adventures continued with his children. He always kept himself busy with innumerable projects, teaching himself whatever skills he needed to accomplish them and was always ready to take on new challenges. He loved gardening, especially tending his tomatoes and being outdoors.
He steadfastly maintained a strong faith in Jehovah God and the promises in the Bible including the hope of a resurrection to life on a paradise earth under God’s Kingdom. That same hope sustains his family. His children appreciate his unwavering commitment and love for his family throughout his whole life. They feel honored they could care for and keep him in his own home up until his passing. At Alfred's request there will be no memorial service.
His family wishes to express thanks to the doctors and nurses at RUH ER for the compassionate care in assisting Alfred and his family during a very difficult day.
