Vivian "Viv" Betty Miller (Morton), age 85, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Viv was born on May 20, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Jesse Glen Morton & Sophie Wilhelmina Sasse (Morton). Viv leaves behind one son, John Bryan Miller and his wife, Kim, four grandchildren--Eric and his wife, Stacy, Bryan, Collin & Kristopher--as well as three great-grandchildren (Ashley, Dylan, & Britney). She is survived by her siblings-Mary Kowalchik, Olive Waltz, Dolly Straley and her husband, Lee, & Charles Morton and his wife, Dixie-their wonderful children and families. Her brothers Jesse Jr., Benjamin, Stanley and David, preceded her in death. Viv held membership at Lakeside Baptist Church for more than 70 years, early on she taught Sunday School and Awanas. Viv was involved with Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference and Center Lake Bible Camp for several years. After completing a career at FMB-Lumberman's Bank, she served nearly 20 years as a missionary in N. Africa at Children's Haven, an orphanage in Azrou, Morocco. Viv moved to Bradenton Missionary Village in 2000 where she continued a ministry of visiting nursing home residents, delivering food to those in need and regularly aided Aurora Ministries' Audio Bibles for the Blind. Final arrangements have been made with the National Cremation Society's Sarasota office and a memorial service will be held at Bradenton Missionary Village.
