Terry was born on April 3, 1955 in Ann Arbor, MI and moved to Florida with his family at the age of 14.
He was a graduate of Riverview High School, and served with the United States Air Force.
Terry worked for many years for Ron Horn Plumbing and was owner and operator of Heilmann’s Upholstery.
He was an avid golfer, bowler and especially enjoyed fishing with his son.
Preceded in death by his parents, Helmut and Eileen (nee Eisenlord) Heilmann, he is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Yvonne Mello, Rachel Heilmann, Josh (Brandy) Heilmann; stepchildren, Amber Honig, Adam Honig, R.J. Honig; brothers, Dale (Linda) Heilmann and Chris (Kathy) Heilmann. Terry is also survived by his grandchildren, Victoria (Alex) Vercheski, Kaitlynn Mello, Olivia Heilmann, Haven Heilmann, Chandler Heilmann and Slade Dromgoole, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and his beloved dogs, Maci and Clyde.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota, County.
Terry would like people to remember this about him:
