Takeisha Lashay McKnight's legacy is unconditional love for her family and neighborhood children. The Southeast High School graduate completed a program in medical assisting at Sarasota's Keiser University. Her work in nurturing children she met brought the greatest joy. As a result of her concern for their well-being, she offered shelter, food, clothing, a listening ear, transportation, and encouragement. Nothing stopped her from sharing her all with many children and mothers she befriended. Event planning, decorating, shopping and collecting vintage Barbies were a few of her hobbies.
Keisha leaves to mourn her loss her mother Kathy Sams, and father Byron Mcknight; brothers Roland, Roderick, Keith, Phil, Kenny, Kevin, William and Keonta; Sisters Simone, Alicia, Phyllis, Casey and Akeylah; her surrogate daughter Dyamond, an aunt Sabrina Fordham Baptiste, and uncles James Everett Sams (wife Michelle) and Nick McKnight.
Gathering will be held on Sat. May 15 from 1pm to 3pm, Memorial Service will follow at 3 pm.
