Susan Miller, 79, wife of Richard J. Miller, passed away on June 20, 2024. She was born Susan M. Tevington, in Buffalo, New York. She attended Holy Family School and graduated from Mount Mercy Academy High School. After high school she continued her education at Mount Mercy School of Nursing and Canisius College. She graduated as a registered nurse (RN). She began her career at Mercy Hospital as a team nurse. She advanced to the McGuire Group earning the title of RN Supervisor and ultimately the chief administrator of five nursing homes throughout the Buffalo area. She relocated to Sarasota with her loving family, and worked as an RN at Bay Village of Sarasota for 15 years before retiring.
Susan is survived by her husband, Richard J. Miller, and two daughters, Paula (Whelan) Madison and Amy Whelan, and three step children, Douglas Miller, Laura Miller and Timothy Miller. She will be missed by her loving grandchildren Amanda Hanson, Daniel Hansen, Jason Miller, Scott Miller, Meghan Miller, Jessica Miller, Julia Miller, AnnaSophia Guenet, Thomas Guenet and Ava Whelan.
Burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
