Stephanie Robin Gruters, born on February 24, 1952, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, gracefully completed her journey on December 29, 2023, surrounded by the love of her cherished children and husband. Robin, as she was affectionately known, was born into a military family, relishing the adventures that came with a nomadic childhood.
Stanley and Shirley Little cultivated a vibrant passion for life in their daughter, who navigated a rich variety of experiences. A debutante and an award-winning beauty queen, she enraptured many hearts until destiny intertwined her path with Terence Gruters. Their union blossomed in 1974, spanning 49 years and gracing them with six children: Kelley Pierce (married to Stephen Pierce - their children Stephen, Chloe, and Hunter), Joseph Gruters (married to Sydney Gruters - their children Spencer, Jack, and Elle), Jacqueline Caouette (married to Theodore Caouette - their children Tyler and Samantha), Timothy Gruters (married to Ashley Gruters - their children Piper, Casper, Jagger, and Timber), Sally Posey (married to Brad Posey), and Stephen Gruters (married to Alyssa Gruters). Her life was characterized by a strong commitment to her children. She was dedicated to fostering their interests, ensuring their success in sports, careers, and families.
Robin was a formidable presence on the tennis courts. Her skill in tennis and venture into diving, started with her eldest children, established her as one of Florida's respected divers. Her proficiency extended beyond diving; she imparted her expertise, instructing numerous individuals and capturing stunning underwater moments for esteemed diving publications.
Her vibrant spirit transcended her accomplishments. Robin was a loyal and devoted friend, her heart poured into every connection she made. Her presence illuminated every room, earning her the title of the life of the party. However, her true essence radiated in her role as a loving mother and grandmother.
Her family invites all who were touched by Robin's warmth and vivacity to join in honoring her remarkable life. Though her physical presence may be gone, her legacy of love and unwavering enthusiasm will forever endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Robin Gruters—a soul cherished, a life celebrated, and an eternal source of inspiration.
