Born In The Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Victor and Aurelia (Scanzilla) Mondo.
He was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in The Bronx and earned a BBA from City College of New York.
Rocco was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving with distinction from 1958-1962. His last post was as part of the administrative team serving Admiral John McCain in Little Rock, Va.
He had a long and distinguished career in the insurance and reinsurance industry, retiring as Sr. Vice President of the Property and Casualty Division of St. Paul Reinsurance Company in New York City.
He and his wife Sheila are members of TCP Prestancia Country Club in Sarasota, FL. They are parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Osprey, FL.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
He is survived by his wife Sheila; and sister, Theresa O’Neill; as well as many nieces and nephews.
