Robert (Bob) Stephen Zieminski was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 26th, 1946; he passed away unexpectedly on May 26th, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida. His parents were Edward and Catherine Zieminski.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost fifty years, Elizabeth (Liz) Zieminski and their two children, Stephen Zieminski, and Kristen (Michael) Klei.
Bob was predeceased in death by one grandchild, Joshua Klei and he is survived by three grandchildren, Noah Klei, Micah Klei, and Luke Klei. Bob was the oldest of four children. He is survived by one brother, Edward Zieminski and two sisters, Karen Sienkiewicz and Linda Zieminski.
Bob attended Archbishop Molloy High School (1964), Georgetown University (1968), St, John’s University, (1971), and received a PhD in Mathematics from Oregon State University in (1982). Bob was an exceptional runner as evidenced by his induction to both his high school and college Hall of Fames. He was an excellent math teacher who taught at his former Alma Mater, Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York, Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon, and until he retired, at Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida.
Bob was a selfless man with an enormous heart. He loved spending time with family and friends. He had a dry sense of humor, and his jokes were guaranteed to make you smile. Some of Bob’s hobbies included skiing, fishing, traveling, and playing the guitar.
A 10:00 am memorial mass will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 7900 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota.
