According to Nancy, I'm not the first to say that Dick Shea was the definition of a Gentle Man. You didn't have to know him very long to recognize the Intelligence, character, caring, generosity, and genuineness of the man. He was always friendly and open and you just knew that her is a man I can trust. My wife Dee and I spent happy moments with him, Linda, Janet, and Larry - I just wish we had more. My fondest memories of Dick were at the Monday night poker games that he initiated - lots of laughs and friendly banter. He was a winner at cards and a winner in life. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Our deep condolences to Linda.

I have known Richard for over 30 years and I have never known him to be anything but welcoming, generous, knowledgeable and a great storyteller.  I used to kid him that he was like the man in the movie “Doran Gray” - the image in the mirror would grow older, but Dorian never did.  And it was true - he never seemed to age, always so youthful, handsome and well put together and a true gentleman.  I will miss him immensely.  I know the Lord’s angels are taking care of him and we will meet again one day.  Love, Paula

My favorite memory of Grandpa was our Vegas trip.  Grandpa called me and said, hey Michael, how would you like to go to Las Vegas with me?  What a memorable trip it was. We had a fantastic time together. We saw the incredible show “O” and the Blue Man Group, which was not his favorite. He looked at me and said, this show is ridiculous! We left 20 minutes later. We had terrific dinners and even better conversations.  Grandpa, I promise you I will never order a drink at dinner and ask for a Pepsi on the side again! I know you will be watching out for that. Thank you for never missing a birthday card or phone call. I love you and miss you.  Michael. 

My grandpa was such a knowledgeable dapper man! He always had something to give me insight on and truly made our family trips to Florida ones to look forward to! When we would visit he would have beach trips planned, sleepovers with horse racing ready to watch and cheerios to wake up to. He would take us on boat adventures filled with speed, and always new restaurants that we had to try. My favorite last adventure with him was my last visit to Florida in which I was able to bring my boys and introduce them to my grandfather in person! Being able to show them some of the same Florida memories that I cherished so much was a joy I can never forget. I also know the joy that trip brought my grandpa, I could see it in his eyes. Living in different states from family is never ideal, but how we spent our time when we were together was filled with memories I could never forget. You’re always in my heart,

Our meeting him the very first time developed into a Friendship that has lasted all of these years.

We had the pleasure standing up for him and his wife Linda at their wedding, an unbeatable couple so devoted to one another.

Richard always genuine and a heart of gold, always there to lend a helping hand, a true privilege to have as a Friend.

I first met “Dick” Shea at Murray Ohio Mfg.  in Lawrenceburg, TN where he was a chemical supplier for the finishing department. We soon became more than just business associates, as a true friendship developed between us. That friendship lasted well over 40 years and, I believe, turned into mutual respect and love. Richard was a wonderfully endowed and classy gentleman who was always understanding and tolerant of this fellow musician and TN redneck 😜. I’ll remember him forever with ❤️  

My father has been referred to several times by family and friends as a "gentlemen".  No truer word could describe him.  He fought hard for the last 3 and a half months and I am thankful that I could be there with him.  His wife Linda never waivered in love and support.  I know he is at peace now and pray that eventually, with time, only good memories of his life will take over the sad ones.  I love you dad - always have and always will.    Be at peace - you've earned it.  And like "our" song said since I was little, "...love you like a Rock O'Babe"  forever.
