Peter Douglas McDermott

Peter Douglas McDermott, 54, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away suddenly on October 16, 2018. Viewing will be held from 11am – 1pm on October 27, 2018 at the National Cremation and Burial Society, 2990 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida 34239.

Peter was born in Bradenton, Florida on May 17, 1964. He graduated from Marlboro High School, Marlboro, New York. He attended Mount Saint Mary College, in Newburgh, New York.

Peter worked as a locksmith for a number of different companies in Tampa for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing chess with Gabriel, going to car shows, listening to music, cooking for his family, playing pool Saturday nights, and always having a good time.

Peter is survived by his partner, James Dean Porter, his mother, Elizabeth Davitt McDermott, bother, Kevin Michael McDermott, newly-discovered special family member, Gabriel Lynn Kibler, and niece Kaitlyn Elizabeth McDermott.

Peter will be greatly missed and forever loved. His legacy will continue on through Gabriel.

He would want us all to celebrate his life rather than mourn it. Every time you go to a car show, play pool, or hear one of his favorite songs, remember he is right there watching and listening with you.
